This legend explains how the wooden lamp came into existence in the Jagannath temple.
- King Indradyumna once had a dream in which he saw an old carpenter carving wood on the seashore, who turned out to be Lord Vishwakarma.But the limb disappears before the carving is complete, leaving the person without a limb.The king of the lake is a king of the lake in Odisha, Puri district, and the Jagannath temple is located in the same place.
